Candidates by Disability and Gender Report

Can I view a report of all candidates by disability and gender?

Purpose: To help you understand how the Candidates by Disability and Gender report works and how to make sure the fields populate by candidates when creating your Job Openings.

An affirmative action plan is required for federal contractors meeting specific requirements. This report helps your company measure your hiring efforts in regard to disability and gender.

There are five standard reports available for Applicant Tracking. You cannot create custom reports for Applicant Tracking data.

  1. Date Range: Based on the Application Date for the candidate(s). Select the start and end date to determine the window of time to pull its information.
  2. All Job Openings: Determine whether you would like to view aggregate information for all of your job openings or for a specific opening. The report will only show information for job openings that have asked for this information.
  3. Total Job Candidates: On the right side, you will see the total number of candidates during the selected time frame for the chosen job opening. The circle graph will show the breakdown by gender. Male candidates show in blue, female candidates show in pink, and those who declined to specify their gender will show in grey. Upon hover, you will see a percentage.
  4. Bar graph breakdown: The bar graph shows you the number of candidates who declared each disability option. The available responses are based on standard U.S. government responses and cannot be changed. These numbers are also color-coded by gender.
  5. Table: The table displays Disabilities and Gender as the column headers with the total count and the hired count. Each disability will appear in the table three times depending on the associated gender selected (i.e., Male and No, I don't have a disability; Female and No, I don't have a disability, or Declined to answer and No, I don't have a disability).

If you need to export the data, click the action icon in the upper right corner of the report.

A few guidelines for this report:

  • If a candidate is deleted from BambooHR, the answers are also deleted from this report.
  • The questions to allow a candidate to identify race, disability, gender, or veteran status appear when the job opening has a selected job category (see below). If there is not a job category set, this report will not populate.
  • Employers are not to override answers to these questions as mandated by the US Department of Labor.

Set a job category

When selecting a job category, the employee will see equal opportunity/affirmative action questions.

Data will only appear on this report if you are utilizing the Applicant Tracking System within BambooHR.

The Account Owner and Full Admin user(s) automatically have access to all standard reports. Additionally, if a user has access to Manage Job Openings and Candidates through access levels, they can view the Candidates by Disability and Gender report on the Reports tab in BambooHR.
