State Withholding and Unemployment Insurance Report

Can I run a report on state withholding and unemployment insurance information before running payroll?

Purpose: This report shows employees' state tax withholding and unemployment insurance information for you to verify everything is correct before running payroll.

This report is automatically available to Full Admin users and Payroll Admin users. Additionally, they can share this report with a custom access level user who has access to the information in this report.

State Withholding and Unemployment Insurance

Go to the Standard Reports folder on the Reports tab and select State Withholding & Unemployment Insurance under the Payroll section. This report shows the following state withholding and unemployment insurance information of all employees:

  • Employee #
  • Employee name
  • State Tax Withholding Location
  • State Tax Withholding State
  • Filing Status
  • Exemptions
  • Additional Withholding (Amount and type)
  • Ignore Filing Status and Exemptions
  • State Unemployment Insurance Tax Exempt
  • Unemployment Insurance Location
  • Unemployment Insurance State
  • State Tax Options
  • State Unemployment Tax Options (This will only appear if you have employees located in states where this is applicable.)

Clicking on an employee's name will take you to the employee's Pay Info tab with the Taxes tab open. You can make edits to the employee's state tax withholding and unemployment settings within this section. 

Users with access can download this report in a PDF, Excel, or CSV format.

If there are no employees with state withholding information, you will see a blank slate of the report.
