How do I share a job opening externally?

Purpose: Once you create a job opening, you will want to get the word out to as many people as possible. This guide will help you understand how to use social media links to share job openings.

Share

Below, two candidate rows are listed with columns for Candidate Info, Status, Rating, Applied date, and Last Email. Example candidate names are redacted to “employee.”

You can easily promote a job opening through the job link and social media links. First, click Share Job Link.

Pop-up window titled Share Job Posting with the job title Account Executive. Options include:Dropdown labeled Where will you post this link? with “–Select–” as placeholder.Job Link field showing a BambooHR careers URL and a Copy button.Social media share icons for LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter. At the bottom is a green Done button.

This will open a modal allowing you to share your job posting:

1. Where will you post this link?: Click on the arrow to select the posting location from the dropdown list of candidate sources from the Hiring section of Settings. If you need to add an additional option, click + Add Item.

2. Copy link: Here, you can copy a custom job link to share with others and track candidate sources. When you select where to post your job opening, you will notice this job link adjust to be a unique URL for the location. You can copy the job link to manually post it on job boards outside of those we integrate with (Indeed, Glassdoor, and ZipRecruiter). This action will ensure you share it with the proper attribution for source tracking, meaning it will show up correctly in the Candidate Sources report.

3. Share directly on social media: Click on the applicable icon, and a pop-up box will appear with a link to the social media site that you have chosen, asking you to log in.*

You can also add a comment and choose to share a job opening with the public or only the account's connections/friends/followers. Candidates will be directed to the job opening in the ATS when they click on the link in your job posting.

*Be sure to log in to your company's social media account. If you are logged into your personal account and post a job opening from there, the job posting will show up as shared by you, not as the company (e.g., "Posted by Charlotte Abbott" instead of "Posted by BambooHR").

If you have a paid sponsorship with Indeed, your candidates will see an Apply now button on the job opening in Indeed. The candidate will complete the application in Indeed and it will feed directly into BambooHR.
