Onboarding and Offboarding Email Notifications
What email notifications are sent for onboarding and offboarding?
Purpose: To show you an example of each email notification that sends for onboarding and offboarding.
Email notifications from BambooHR come from [email protected]. The user must be assigned an access level in BambooHR to receive the notification.
Task Reminder alert
The Task Reminder Alert is an email alert that you can create in Settings. Navigate to Email Alerts to select Task Reminder from the drop-down menu. This notification will send based on the due dates assigned to individual tasks. For more information on creating this specific alert, please click here.
Task Assignment notification
This notification is automatically triggered when an employee is assigned a task on the Onboarding or Offboarding tab. If an employee is assigned multiple tasks, they will only receive one email notification that lists all assigned tasks.
Task Updated notification (due date change)
This email alert is triggered when a due date for an onboarding or offboarding task is updated. The email alert immediately sends to the individual assigned to the specific task.
Task Completed notification
If someone other than the assignee checks off an onboarding or offboarding task for an employee, the assignee will receive an email notification that notifies them of the completed task.
Comments
When someone adds a comment or attaches a file to a task, the assignee immediately receives an email notification with the comment. They can reply from their inbox or post a reply directly to the comment, which will generate a second email notification to any other individuals on the thread.* This process continues when multiple comments add to the task or updates.
*Please note that the person who assigned the task will not receive an email notification about future comments on the task unless they already commented on the task.
