How Does a Candidate Apply for a Job Opening?

Purpose: To help you understand how a candidate can apply for a job opening in your BambooHR Applicant Tracking System.

Apply

Individuals can apply for any open job positions on your careers website or your company website if you are using the embed code.

Application

The candidate can fill out the information and click Submit Application.

The candidate will receive a confirmation email letting them know you have received their application. 

Each job opening will stop accepting applications from a candidate if they apply with the same name and phone number five times within a six-month time period.


Can I add a candidate manually?

Under the Hiring tab, click on an applicable job title from the Job Openings table. Select+ New Candidate (located above the candidate overview table) to add a candidate to the job opening. Enter the candidate's details and attach their resume. Click Save. Once saved, the individual will show in the list of candidates for this specific job opening.

When you manually add a candidate to BambooHR, they will show as Added instead of Applied. Additionally, the job creator and hiring lead will see an email notification regarding the new candidate.
