Translate Custom Fields and List Values

How can I translate my custom fields and list values?

Purpose: To teach you how to add translations for custom fields and list values to provide a better BambooHR experience for your employees who speak other languages.

Translations

We translate standard fields in BambooHR on our end. However, you can add translations to your list values or custom fields and tabs by going to Settings > Account > Translations.

To add translations to your list values or custom fields and tabs, follow these steps:

  1. Select the desired language from the dropdown menu.
  2. Click on a tab to display its field translation options.
  3. Translate any needed tab names.
  4. You will see this icon if a field is a dropdown list. Click on the icon to add a translation for each list option.

The red dot alerts you of any needed translations in the corresponding tab.

If you do not have the Translations section in Settings > Account, please contact our Customer Support team to have this feature added for you.


How do I change my language setting?
Account Settings

To change your language preference in BambooHR, click on your profile photo in the bottom left corner and choose Account Settings. Select your preferred language and then click Save.


What languages do we currently support?
  • English
  • French (Canadian)
  • Deutsch (German)
  • Spanish (Latin America)

Please note that administrators are responsible for translating titles of any custom fields by navigating to Settings > Account > Translations. Additionally, the percentage of core field translation in BambooHR varies for each language.  

We do not currently include any translations in email alerts.
