Where can I view my company holidays?


Summary

Stay informed about your company holidays so you can plan your time off with confidence. This guide explains how to view upcoming holidays in BambooHR through the Who’s Out widget and calendar, iCal feed, mobile app, and Time Tracking settings.


Who this is for

This guide is for all BambooHR users with Core, Pro, or Elite packages who have access to company calendars. Administrators can also view and manage holidays through Settings > Holidays.


Before you start

Ensure that your administrator has added company holidays in Settings > Holidays. Holidays appear only after being set up and assigned to employees or groups.


Who's Out widget

View holidays in the Who's Out widget

  1. Go to your Home page.
  2. Find the Who's Out widget.
    • The smaller view shows employees currently out due to time off or holidays.
    • The expanded view lists who's out today and in the coming days.

You can determine if a filtered holiday (one that only applies to some employees) will be visible to all employees through Holiday settings.

View holidays in the Who's Out calendar

  1. From the Who’s Out, Celebrations, or Company Holidays widget, click View Full Calendar.
  2. Holidays appear with a holiday icon next to the date.
  3. Click Details to see all employees assigned to a specific holiday.
  4. If you are assigned to a holiday, it appears in color. If not, it is grayed out, but you will still be able to see who is assigned to that holiday if your admin has granted you that permission.

Administrators can filter holidays to specific employee groups via holiday settings. They can also determine if those holidays should be visible to all employees or only those assigned to the holiday.

Sync holidays to an external calendar (iCal feed)

  1. When the iCal feature is activated, your company holidays sync automatically with external calendars such as Google Calendar, Outlook, or Apple Calendar.

View holidays in the mobile app

  1. Open the BambooHR mobile app.
  2. Tap the Calendar tab to see company holidays and employee absences.

When you request time off that includes a company holiday:

  • The holiday will default to 0 hours/days if it applies to you.
  • You can adjust the hours if needed.
  • If the holiday does not apply to you, the full days hours will appear as usual.

View holidays in Time Tracking

If your organization uses BambooHR Time Tracking:

  1. Holidays appear on the employee’s Timesheet.
  2. Set up holidays under Settings > Holidays to ensure they automatically display.
