Compensation in Total Rewards

How do I set up compensation in Total Rewards?

Purpose: To help you understand compensation on a Total Rewards statement.

Setting up compensation in Total Rewards

Before your employees can view their own compensation information in their Total Rewards statement, you will need to make sure their compensation details are up to date on their employee profile. You can update an employee’s compensation by going to the Compensation table within the Job tab on their employee profile.

Click +Add Entry to add a new line to the table or hover over a current line in the table to edit the current information.

Save your changes and the updated information will show on the employee’s Total Rewards statement under the Pay section of the statement.

If there are previous entries in the Compensation table on the Job tab, these will show in the Pay History section of the statement. Previous compensation is not included in the Total Annual Compensation section.

Salary vs. hourly compensation

There are two ways you can show compensation information on the Total Rewards statement: salary and hourly.

Salary

For a salaried employee, their compensation information will show the total annual compensation, compensation details, current pay, and pay history.

  1. Total Annual Compensation: Shows the Estimated Gross Value of the total compensation for the year
  2. Compensation Details: Shows the percentage and monetary breakdown of the current pay rate, potential bonuses, commission, equity, benefits, and perks
  3. Current Pay: Current compensation number
  4. Pay History: Pay history showing adjustments over time

Hourly

For an hourly employee, their compensation will show the same details as a salaried employee but will also include the estimated pay calculator.

  1. Total Rewards Breakdown: This shows the Estimated Gross Value of the total compensation for the year
  2. Compensation Details: Shows the percentage and monetary breakdown of the current pay rate, potential bonuses, commission, equity, benefits, and perks
  3. Estimated Pay Calculator: This shows the estimated compensation for an hourly rate. When moved, this slider will update the information in the Total Annual Compensation and Compensation Details sections.
  4. Current Pay: Current compensation number
  5. Pay History: Pay history showing adjustments over time

Currencies in Total Rewards

Although we support multiple currencies for employee compensation on the Job tab, all amounts must be in the same currency to successfully show in all components of the Total Rewards statement.

If an employee has a compensation value with multiple currencies, the amount won't be reflected in the Total Annual Compensation section, and a blue notification will show on their Total Rewards statement.
