Enable Employee Wellbeing

How do I enable Employee Wellbeing?  

Purpose: To help you understand how to enable Employee Wellbeing in your account, and gain insight into your employees' well-being and experience with the company.


Settings

Navigate in Settings and select Employee Wellbeing. Click Let's Get Started.

Do not forget to watch the video to learn the basics of Employee Wellbeing and its setup in BambooHR.


Setup

  1. Select the day you would like to send out the employee survey. Employees will have seven calendar days to complete the survey (including weekends). The survey will close at 11:59 p.m. on the last day of the survey period based on the time zone selected in Settings, regardless of individual timezones.  If the survey starts or closes on a weekend or company holiday, it will delay until the next working day.
    • For example, if the start date is January 1, employees will have until January 7, 11:59 pm, to complete the survey.
  2. Check this box if you would like employees with an Employment Status of Contractor also to receive the surveys.
  3. Choose how often you would like the surveys to be sent going forward. You can select from Monthly, Every Other Month, and Quarterly. Before saving the setup, you must also select how you would like the survey to land within the selected period frequency. For example, my options for my selection above would be The 16th day of the month or On the third Wednesday.
  4. Once you have completed the Schedule portion, the Upcoming Surveys portion will appear, allowing you to preview the questions and frequency of your next five surveys. See below for more information on the surveys.
  5. Here is where you can turn off Employee Wellbeing if needed. This will not delete any data. 
  6. Don't forget to save your changes!

Surveys

These surveys will help you measure employee wellbeing by asking questions in four categories (one question per category):

  1. Happiness
  2. Relationships
  3. Personal Motivators
  4. Company Motivators

Employees will be able to answer by selecting a response along a Likert scale with the following options:

  • Strongly Disagree
  • Disagree
  • Somewhat Disagree
  • Somewhat Agree
  • Agree
  • Strongly Agree

Employees will also have a free text field available for each question to provide any additional context or comments they would like to. Their answers will be kept completely anonymous (using the same technology as our Employee Satisfaction surveys!) so they can feel comfortable being honest and open.


What questions are available for each category?

Happiness:

  • I am enthusiastic about my job
  • I am excited about my job
  • I feel inspired in my job
  • I often feel passionate about my work
  • I am optimistic at work

Personal Motivators:

  • I have a sense of personal investment in my role
  • I am proud of the work I do
  • I feel personal achievement in my role
  • It's clear to me how my role contributes to the success of the company
  • My goals help my company's strategy move forward

Company Motivators:

  • I regularly receive recognition from my manager
  • I receive recognition and praise for my work
  • I am given clear signals about what is expected of me
  • I feel supported by my supervisor
  • I have access to someone who can help me when Im stuck
  • I feel comfortable providing feedback to my supervisor

Relationships:

  • I feel a sense of comradery with my colleagues
  • I have positive relationships at work
  • I enjoy being with my coworkers
  • I have people to confide in at work
  • I have a close friend at the company that I can confide in

Edit Survey Questions

If you would like to switch out a question in one of your surveys, hover over the question and click the pencil icon.

This will pull up a modal displaying all questions available for that specific category. If they have been asked before, you'll see the date they were last included in a survey. Simply check the box next to the question you would like to include in the survey.

If there is a question in the list you never want to include in a survey, hover over the question and click the X, Never ask this question, which will strike out the question and keep it from being included in any subsequent surveys. The next time you open the modal, this question will show at the bottom of the list.

If you ever want to re-enable this question, simple hover over the question and click Enable Question.

Once you are satisfied with your selection, click Save. This will take you back to the Settings where you can preview how the survey will appear to your employees. Click Close or the X when you would like to exit.
