A breakdown of features
BambooHR Time Tracking contains the following features:
Timesheets: A record of hours worked during a specific time frame. Timesheets show totals but can also show daily hours and timestamps.
Exporting for Payroll: The ability to export data that could be uploaded or manually inputted into a third-party payroll system.
Approving Hours: A workflow that allows for hours worked to be approved by either a manager or admin.
Automatic Notifications: Specified time tracking approvers receive notifications automatically to approve time worked or timesheets.
Reporting: A standard report that shows hours worked by employees.
Overtime Calculations: Automatically computed overtime is calculated based on location. (U.S. and Canada Employees only)
Holiday Hours: This detail will be set up in Holiday settings. There you will be able to specify an overtime multiplier for holiday hours worked or set a specific amount of paid hours for employees who do not work holidays.
Remote Workers: Employees who work remotely can access time tracking and input hours worked (i.e., clock in/clock out, approve hours).
Clock in/out: Employees can clock in when starting a shift and clock out when ending a shift.
Mobile App: Employees can clock in and out directly in BambooHR's mobile app. Approvers receive push notifications when timesheets are ready for approval.
Time Tracking Setup Checklist: We have provided a Time Tracking Setup Checklist for you to make sure that everything gets set up correctly. This checklist helps you make sure that everything is ready to go and start enjoying the many benefits of BambooHR Time Tracking.
Project Tracking: While project tracking is available for all BambooHR customers, only employees with Time Tracking enabled can track project time while adding hours to their timesheet. Knowing where you spend your time is a powerful tool for understanding how long projects take and where you can optimize for the future. If you have clients that you need to charge for their services and have been doing this by hand in spreadsheets, it is now time to stop! We have a report that shows you the billable and non-billable hours for each client, which you can send over to accounting or the client directly.
Time Tracking Groups: If you have different time tracking rules based on department, location, or position, you can easily separate these employees into separate groups. Each group can have its own method of tracking time (start & end times or hours worked), approval workflow, overtime rules, and holiday pay settings.
Geolocation: With an increasingly mobile workforce that uses mobile devices to track time, employers are looking for ways to increase accountability and visibility. Geolocation identifies someone's location when they clock in or out using the BambooHR native iOS and Android mobile apps.
