A breakdown of features
BambooHR Time Tracking contains the following features:
Approving Hours: A workflow that allows either a manager or administrator to approve hours worked.
Automatic Notifications: Time tracking approvers automatically receive notifications to approve time worked or timesheets.
Clock in/out: Employees can clock in when starting a shift and clock out when ending a shift.
Exporting for Payroll: The ability to export data for upload or manual input into a third-party payroll system.
Geolocation: With an increasingly mobile workforce tracking time on mobile devices, employers are looking for ways to increase accountability and visibility. Geolocation identifies employees' location when they clock in or out via the BambooHR native iOS and Android mobile apps.
Holiday Hours: You can set this detail up in Holiday settings. During setup, you can specify an overtime multiplier for holiday hours worked or set a specific amount of paid hours for employees who do not work holidays. All applicable holiday hours and pay rates will appear on the employee's timesheet and sync directly to BambooHR Payroll.
Mobile App: Employees can clock in and out directly in BambooHR's mobile app. Approvers receive push notifications when timesheets are ready for approval.
Overtime Calculations: Overtime is calculated automatically based on location. (U.S. and Canada Employees only)
Project Tracking: While project tracking is available for all BambooHR customers, only employees with Time Tracking enabled can track project time while adding hours to their timesheet. Knowing where you spend your time is a powerful tool for understanding how long projects take and identifying areas for future optimization. If you have clients you need to bill for services and have been tracking this manually in spreadsheets, it's time to stop! We have a report that shows you the billable and non-billable hours for each client, which you can send over to accounting or the client directly.
Remote Workers: Employees who work remotely can access time tracking and input their hours (i.e., clock in/clock out, approve hours).
Reporting: A standard report that shows your employees' hours.
Shift Differentials: If your employees receive different pay rates based on different work hours, you can assign them to a shift differential to streamline your payroll process. If you're a BambooHR Payroll customer, you'll be amazed at how seamlessly these differentials tie into your payroll run. If you're not a BambooHR Payroll customer, no worries! You can still access the shift differential information with our payroll reports and via the employee's timesheet!
Time Clocks: If you are looking for a clocking device that uses keypad IDs, card readers, fingerprint scanning, or facial recognition, BambooHR Time Clocks are for you! To learn more about our physical time clocking solutions, click here.
Time Kiosk: Want your employees to clock in on a single device? Our BambooHR Time Kiosk app allows you to centralize your employees' clock-in and clock-out activities at no additional cost.
Time Tracking Groups: If you have different time tracking rules based on department, location, or position, you can easily divide employees into distinct groups. Each group can have its own method of tracking time (start & end times or hours worked), approval workflow, overtime rules, and holiday pay settings.
Time Tracking Setup Checklist: We have provided a Time Tracking Setup Checklist to make sure everything is set up correctly. This checklist helps you ensure everything is ready to start enjoying the many benefits of BambooHR Time Tracking.
Timesheets: A record of hours worked during a specific time frame. Timesheets show totals but can also show daily hours and timestamps.
