How do I submit my employee's enrollment elections to our carriers from BambooHR?

Purpose: Congratulations! You made it through open enrollment and approved your employees' elections—now it's time to submit the data to your carriers. This guide will walk you through how to prepare and submit your data to carriers by using the Enrollment Window Election Summary report.

Enrollment Window Election Summary

The purpose of the Enrollment Window Election Summary report is to identify new enrollments for both the employee and their dependents so that the benefits administrator can download the information and send to their carriers. Any new election information will populate in this report regardless of the enrollment type (open enrollment, qualifying life event, or new hire).

Reports

The report will become available in the Reports section on the Standard Reports tab after the first enrollment approval is made. Navigate to Reports > Standard Reports > Click Enrollment Window Election Summary

In this report, you can filter the information by the enrollment window name, the benefit type, and the carrier. You will notice that the report provides quite a bit of information. This is to account for the variety of carriers and the unique information they may need. Benefits administrators can export the report as an Excel or CSV file by clicking on the three-dot icon in the top right corner.

The abbreviations in the Relationship column are as follows:

  • SUB: Employee/Subscriber
  • SPS: Spouse
  • DEP: Dependent

Don't need all of those fields? Once you download the report, you can filter out the columns you are not required to share with your carrier.
