Upload a File to an Information Update Request

How do I upload a file to an information update request?

Purpose: This guide will teach you how to upload a file to an information update request and delete a file from an information update request.


Step 1: Open an information update request

To attach a file to an information update request, you will need to locate and open a request. You can view the request in the following ways.

Navigate to your inbox and select Information Updates. Click on a request to which you would like to attach a file.

Or, open the request from your email by clicking View Request at the top of the email notification.

The recipients of the email notification are dependent on the configuration of an approval's settings. Learn more about how to set up information update approvals.


Step 2: Add a file

Once you open the request, navigate to the comments section. You are now ready to add a file. You will:

  1. Enter a comment
  2. Upload the file by clicking the Attach Files icon.
  3. Click Post

Step 3: Workflow Attachments folder

The newly added file will automatically appear in the Workflow Attachments folder on the employee's Documents tab. You can move the file to an alternate folder if needed after its upload.


Step 4: Delete a file

If you need to delete a file from an information update request, go to the request's comments section and click the located at the right of the file name. Also, you can click the trash can icon to delete the comment that includes the file.

A verification pop-up box will ask you if you are sure you want to delete. Click Yes.

You can also delete a file by going to the Workflow Attachments folder under an employee's Documents tab. Click on the action menu of the desired document, and select Delete.
